HB and partners recently broke ground on the Casa de Peregrinos Food Rescue Warehouse in Las Cruces. The warehouse will help expand the distribution of food to those in need throughout Doña Ana County. At the March 31 groundbreaking, the organization and city residents celebrated the advancement of their critical mission: “Food for today, hope for tomorrow.”
Located in the Mesilla Valley of Hope Campus, the project includes the renovation of the former Horse and Hound retail building and an addition to the north. The facility will include a new warehouse area with storage racks, walk-in refrigerator and freezers, a food packaging area, a clean room for food prep, a demonstration kitchen, and public-serving areas. The project will be managed by the City of Las Cruces. Huitt-Zollars is the project architect.
