If you’ve visited HB Construction’s Albuquerque offices recently, you might think the company had gotten into the textile business. Over the last few weeks, HB employees put in time making “no-sew” blankets for the Lovelace Westside Hospital Family Birthing Center, eventually donating over 150 unique blankets.
“We were looking for a way to help out beyond construction. Once we started, our whole staff and their families really got to work,” said VP of Community Engagement Melissa Callas. “We even had employees and families in Lubbock, Las Cruces, and Denver chip in.”
After cutting and tying, a unique note was attached to each blanket, ranging from colorful illustrations to inspirational quotes. Once all blankets were complete, CEO Jason Harrington was among those who personally delivered the blankets to Lovelace Westside.
HB recently worked with Lovelace Medical Group to complete its new Independence Square Clinic, a 43,000 sq ft primary care facility that will house over 30 physicians and more than 100 additional employees.
