HB Construction recently delivered Lovelace Urgent Care at Jefferson & Osuna. The facility expands Lovelace’s existing Independence Square Clinic, creating a new acute care suite equipped with exam and procedure rooms. The clinic provides more opportunities for those seeking immediate care at a much lower cost than an emergency room visit.
Led by developer Argus Investment Realty and AIM Property Management, the build-to-suit project was designed by Dekker/Perich/Sabatini and built by HB Construction under a Design-Build contract. The project team took advantage of designer-contractor integration to deliver the project in two work packages: shell and tenant improvement. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) subcontractors were brought in during preconstruction to ensure constructability and support the design effort.
The new facility is notable for its seamless tie-in to the existing clinic, which opened in April 2017. The matching exteriors incorporate masonry, extensive glazing, and modern geometry. Inside, the streamlined layout of the urgent care suite provides highly functional circulation and wayfinding. The design creates adaptability for Lovelace, ensuring the clinic suits its needs now and over the coming decades.
Healthcare facility design and construction is evolving to embrace flexibility, new technology, and customer convenience. HB is proud to provide both preconstruction and construction management services that help our healthcare partners respond to these needs.
