HB Construction was recently awarded a critical healthcare and behavioral health project, the UNMH Children’s Psychiatric Center. The campus upgrades will support behavioral health care for children and adolescents through age 17. UNMH chose HB as its general contractor through a value-based method that accounted for experience, proposed team, and management plan. As part of our offer, HB proposed a project team with continuity working together. McClain + Yu and Davis Partnership Architects designed the new inpatient facility and campus refresh.

We are excited to begin work, which requires multiple phases to account for the continued operation and safety of the 24/7 operational center. Our team will use experience from the recent UNMH Crisis Triage Center to hone in on critical project details, including distinct levels of safety, security, and ligature resistance throughout the building. Like many of our other complex projects, HB will use Building Information Modeling (BIM) to coordinate trades.
