The New Mexico Department of Agriculture’s new NMSU Lab building reached a significant milestone Thursday as structural framing was completed for the 12,600 sq ft structure. In celebration of the team’s achievement, an onsite “topping out” ceremony was held, with construction crews and representatives from NMSU and NMDA.
Key event speakers included NMDA Director/ Secretary of Agriculture Jeff Witte and NMSU Project Manager Michael Nevarez. At the celebration, everyone had a chance to sign the final steel beam that will be installed inside the building.
With the structure now complete, the next phase of construction begins. Despite supply-chain and other challenges throughout the industry, the project continues to move forward thanks to HB’s team of subcontractors and project leadership from Superintendent German Romero, Project Manager Benito Gonzales, and Assistant Project Manager Scott Gamboa.
