To commemorate 35 years of building across New Mexico, we launched a $500,000 “Give Back” campaign. The funding initiative benefits local education, regional workforce development programs, and a wide array of area non-profits chosen directly by the company’s workforce.
The centerpiece of the anniversary campaign is an initial $350,000 gift to create a permanent endowment fund within the University of New Mexico School of Engineering. Housed under the Gerald May Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, the endowment will provide sustained academic and structural support for future generations of New Mexico engineers.
“Reaching 35 years in business is a testament to the trust our community has placed in us and the dedication of our incredible team,” said Zach Gruen, incoming CEO of HB.
HB is allocating a combined $70,000 specifically toward regional workforce advancement, split equally between three primary trade pillars; Associated Builders & Contractors of New Mexico (ABC), Associated General Contractors of New Mexico (AGC), and Mesilla Valley Economic Development Alliance (MVEDA).
The remaining funding will be split between essential community safety nets and an innovative corporate giving program – all chosen by the company’s leadership team, including $7,000 to the Veterans and Families Foundation, alongside $3,500 gifts respectively to the APS Foundation, ALS New Mexico, and the CNM Foundation.
As a way to empower individual staff members, we are also distributing $350 stipends to every active employee. Each team member will have autonomy to personally select and direct their portion to a local non-profit organization of their choice, driving localized micro-funding directly into communities across the state.
We are grateful for the people that made the last 35 years possible, here’s to the next 35 years of building something great together.
