The City of Las Cruces has taken the next step in its new pool project by selecting HB Construction as its Construction Manager at Risk. The new Community Competition Pool will expand both athletic competition and public recreation in Las Cruces. HB is proud to join the City and ASA Architects in this win-win for the City.
Plans for the 36,536 square foot facility include an Olympic-sized swimming pool, lobby and ticketing area, spectator seating, and locker rooms. The new natatorium will boast a sleek design that includes an east-facing view of the Organ Mountains.
While NMSU’s Frenger Natatorium has served as the primary hub for local swimmers, its limited length and capacity created schedule conflicts. Located adjacent to the Las Cruces Regional Aquatic Center, the new pool will significantly expand capacity to serve the City’s growing swimming community. In addition to hosting competitive events, the new pool will also remain open to the public for lap swimming.
HB Senior Project Manager Brian Rodriguez is excited to get to work. “I’m excited to work with the City of Las Cruces again. We had a great experience on the Convention Center Expansion. This new pool will be a feature facility for the city.”
ASA Architects will lead the design effort to deliver the City of Las Cruces’ newest project.
