The State of New Mexico Pinetree Campus is nearing completion. HB Construction’s project team recently kicked off the third phase of the Central Albuquerque project. Phase III will add new office and staging space for the State Personnel Office (SPO), Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD), and the Department of Veterans Services (DVS). Overall, the Pinetree campus includes over 180,000 sq ft of renovations and consolidates several state agencies to improve efficiency and save New Mexico tax dollars.
For Phase I and II, HB integrated CYFD’s Children’s Wellness Center—a receiving and visitation facility—and its statewide support operations into a single, secure campus.
Using the Design-Build project delivery method, HB partnered with Dekker/Perich/Sabatini for all three phases of work. This continuity underpins a design and contracting process that balances owner programmatic needs and optimal value. By integrating local contractors and suppliers into the design process, the team has navigated tumultuous pricing and product lead times over the past two years.
HB has led Design-Build teams through several major renovation/tenant improvements projects in recent years, including the BernCo @ Alvarado Square project.
