There’s a new, game-changing film studio coming to southern New Mexico, as celebrated during a recent groundbreaking ceremony in Las Cruces.
Located on NMSU’s Arrowhead Center campus in Las Cruces, the $15 million facility represents a major investment in workforce development and creative collaboration. The studio will center around a 20,000-square-foot soundstage and include spaces for set construction, costuming, and production support, and with classrooms. The result will be a working studio and learning environment built to serve both education and film production.
HB is leading the project as Design-Builder in partnership with Dekker/Perich/Sabatini. Our preconstruction team has led intensive efforts to ensure a designthat meets the large space and flexibility needs within a set site and budget.
Project Highlights:
- Design-Build delivery for speed, collaboration, and cost certainty
- 20,000-square-foot soundstage with full production and training support
- Public and private investment driving statewide film industry growth
- Facility expands education and workforce opportunities for NMSU and Doña Ana Community College students.
This project builds on HB’s record of successful Design-Build delivery for major public clients, including the CYFD Children’s Wellness Center and Bernalillo County’s Alvarado Square Headquarters. Together, these projects reflect HB’s commitment to building partnerships that maximize value and strengthen communities.
